Asbestos surveys in Oxfordshire and the Home Counties region

At Scancross Environmental Services Ltd, we have a wealth of experience in providing both types of asbestos survey available: management and pre-refurbishment/pre-demolition. These are carried out in accordance with the Health & Safety Executive Asbestos Surveying Guide HSG 264.

If you are unsure as to what type of survey you need then please don't hesitate to contact our experienced team. We can help you understand this and ensure you meet any legal obligations you may have.

Management survey

Small samples are taken from any suspect materials encountered within the premises, which are analysed within a UKAS accredited laboratory to positively identify the presence of asbestos fibres.

The outcome of this testing will also identify what type of asbestos is present. This enables us to produce a final report and provide advice on what steps you need to take to render the materials safe, and help you with any remedial measures necessary.

Pre-refurbishment and pre-demolition surveys

This is an in-depth survey which seeks to gain access to all areas, including beneath floors, enclosed spaces, sealed ducts and voids, and other areas that are not usually or easily accessible.

All samples are analysed within a UKAS accredited laboratory, and a full report is provided to you about the outcome of the samples. Our report will enable you to understand whether you need to proceed with any asbestos removal.

Sampling: a cost effective alternative to a full building survey

Where single instances of suspect materials have been identified, we can also provide a sampling or localized survey service, which can often be more cost effective and appropriate to your requirements than a full building survey. Our advice and consultancy service can help you decide which is the right type of survey for your needs.

We are licensed by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) to carry out asbestos removal works.

Our surveyors are all qualified by the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) to P402 standard and have at least 20 years personal experience.
